LEBANESE-AMERICAN STAND-UP COMEDIAN NEMR TO PERFORM ‘LOVE ISN’T THE ANSWER’ AT LONDON’S SOUTHBANK CENTRE

“A Comedy Superhero… If there’s one comedy show you attend this year, this just might be the one” AXS.COM

After selling out Cadogan Hall in 2016, stand-up Nemr Abou Nassar is making a rare-trip across the Atlantic to perform at London’s Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on Friday 22nd February 2019 as part of his Love Isn’t The Answer world tour. In his latest show, the pioneering stand-up credited with establishing a comedy scene throughout the Middle East, probes the disparity between San Diego, where he grew up, and Lebanon, where he returned home to live with his family, tackling challenging issues in his mission to break down global barriers and spread unity.

Love Isn’t The Answer follows Nemr’s hugely successful 2016 tour, No Bombing in Beirut, which was the first global comedy event to successfully stretch from the US to London to the Middle East, unanimously selling out venues up to 5000 in capacity. The uproarious hour was also filmed in both Lebanon and Los Angeles and captured thousands stretching across the regions laughing at the same jokes, told by the same man. The special premiered on America’s Showtime and Canada’s CraveTV and the Movie Network last year – both are now available on demand.

Alongside writing and performing eight other full feature shows, Nemr has numerous television credits from major networks in the Middle East and the US, including CNN and Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. He has also released two feature specials as cinematic experiences and had his own prime time TV show Stand Up Comedy Revolution on Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International. In 2014 he was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine (Middle East) solidifying Nemr’s legacy as the biggest name in stand up in the area.
