A massive underground hit
The Scotsman ★★★★★
Having won the Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize, the comedy show Funz and Gamez, created by Phil Elis, is bringing its anarchic spirit to the Underbelly Festival for a special one off show on the 18th June.
Phil is coming to the Underbelly Festival to entertain the whole family and he’s bringing along some friends; Jim Elf and Bonzo the dog will be on hand to ensure it’s a giggle-packed hour of family fun. The show is packed with new gamez, songz and funz, where anything could happen.
After receiving incredible critical acclaim, Funz and Gamez was broadcast as part of BBC Radio 4’s Fresh from the Fest, as well as part of BBC Comedy Feeds (BBC Three). The show went on to have an 18-show run at the Soho theatre, slots at all major comedy festivals, as well as a further run at the Underbelly on Southbank last year, solidifying its reputation as an undisputed anarchic sleeper hit of a show.
Funz & Gamez is created by Phil Elis, an award winning comedian who has entertained audiences of all ages with his amalgamation of off-beat observational material and physical comedy.
Phil’s TV appearances include Drunk History (Comedy Central), as well as writing and performing credits on BBC Three’s The Tapeface Tapes. Phil also co-wrote three comedy shorts, Phil’s Ill, for Dave. These won ‘Pick of the Day’ status in multiple publications including The Times, The Guardian and The Daily Mail.
