Valeria Vulpe is a Moldovan-born, London-based stand-up comedian. She is a U.S. citizen who shifted from mathematics and data science to comedy. She first came to the United States for college. Attending Grinnell College in Iowa, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics with Honors. She then earned an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the London School of Economics. After a decade as a Data Scientist at Google, Valeria traded algorithms for stand-up. She has quickly established herself as one of the UK’s most in-demand voices on the comedy circuit.
In 2025, Valeria was crowned the Spirit of Comedy winner. This earned her the opportunity to open for Ricky Gervais at Wembley Arena. She supported Daniel Sloss across theatres in Scotland. Valeria supported Connor Burns at Leicester Square Theatre and was a ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ finalist. She was a Leicester Comedian of the Year nominee.
Valeria is a regular at Top Secret Comedy Club in the UK. In 2026, she is performing her own show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where the run earned strong reviews. This November, she will make her New York City headlining debut. As a result, it is part of the 2026 New York Comedy Festival, marking her emergence as international talent.
In addition, beyond stand-up, Valeria is creator and host of ‘3 Shots,’ a YouTube show sponsored by Dutch Barn Vodka. The series puts guests in the hot seat with tough and awkward questions, giving them just three vodka-fueled lifelines to escape the ones they’d rather not answer.
As well, her comedy combines mathematical precision with a dry, mordant perspective from Moldova and experiences in the U.S. and UK. Additionally, Valeria is smart, understated, and sharply observational, finding absurdity in dating, relationships, daily life with deadpan humor.
