Sam Jay

Stand-up comic, actor, and Emmy-nominated writer SAM JAY is widely known as the host and Executive Producer of the WGA Award nominated HBO Late Night series, Pause with Sam Jay as well as her 2020 debut one-hour Netflix stand up special Sam Jay: 3 in the Morning .

She can also be seen in her stand out role opposite Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the Kenya Barris-directed feature film, You People, now streaming on Netflix. In 2022, she starred, EP’d and co-created Peacock series Bust Down, along with Langston Kerman, Jak Knight, and Chris Redd. Sam is also a two-time Emmy nominee and WGA Award nominee for her writing on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

 

In 2023, Sam was named a BET Her Awards Pride Honoree and previously she was named to the 2018 Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch.  Last fall, she featured both on and off camera as the “Voice of God” announcer on the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC. Her comedy resume includes her debut album from Comedy Central records Donna’s Daughter, Netflix’s Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration, along with Margaret Cho, Sandra Bernhard, Billy Eichner, and Eddie Izzard, Netflix’s The Comedy Lineup, Comedy Central PresentsABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.  On screen credits include Hulu’s Shrill, Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show; HBO Max’s That Damn Michael Che; TV Land’s Nobodies; Starz’s Take My Wife, Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers and Broad City.
