Rob Auton has written twelve five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows, building a live audience through his unique world view and love of writing and performing. His shows for stage include a series of shows on specific themes- The Yellow Show (a show about the colour yellow), The Sky Show, The Face Show, The Water Show, The Sleep Show, The Hair Show, The Talk Show and so on. In 2025 Rob wrote his first narrative hour- ‘CAN-The Story of a Man called Can’. The show enjoyed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh festival, was listed in the British Comedy Guide’s best reviewed shows of the fringe and won Best show and Best Comedy Show in the Darkchat.com Awards 2025. As well as touring the UK extensively Rob has also performed across Europe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia.
His daily podcast The Rob Auton Daily podcast won the gold award for BEST DAILY PODCAST in 2020 and 2024.
Rob has performed his unique brand of comedy on The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One) and on Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central). His videos online have amassed a total viewing figure of 45,000,000 across all platforms.
Rob has had four collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye books and Harper Collins Non-fiction, he has had his poetry turned into short films and shown on Channel 4.
His acting work includes roles in shows such as COLD FEET, MIRACLE WORKERS, THE END OF THE F*CKING WORLD, THE CHANGE and STARSTRUCK. In 2025 Rob made his film debut in Marching Powder alongside Danny Dyer.
