Karl is a prolific and in-demand comedy scriptwriter with over thirty years’ experience across all media. Starting in the late 90s, Karl has helped write and create tours for Jenny Éclair, Russell Howard and Al Murray. He has also spent many years in the writing rooms of topical TV shows such as The Last Leg (Channel 4), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Spitting Image (BritBox), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) and Matt Forde’s Unspun (Dave), as well as Radio and Podcasts including The Matt Forde Focus Group (BBC Sounds), One Person Found This Helpful (BBC Radio 4) and The Naked Week (BBC Radio 4).
As a script consultant, he also worked alongside Armando Iannucci on his HBO series Avenue Five. As a writer-performer Karl has created over thirty full-length shows and his short play ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being On The Phone’ was staged at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. After completing an M.A. in Scriptwriting at the UEA, Karl wrote the feature script ‘The King of Infinite Space’ and is currently writing a second film script: ‘Summer With Einstein’.
