John Hastings first walked on stage at four years old. Security promptly grabbed him and returned him to his parents. Two decades later, he’s still getting on stage—only now people pay to watch.
Originally from Canada and now based in Los Angeles, Hastings has become a globally touring stand-up comedian with performances spanning Edinburgh, Melbourne, Just for Laughs Montreal, Adelaide Fringe, Perth Fringe, and virtually every major comedy festival in the world. His work has been featured on NBC, CBS, BBC Radio 4, BBC One, BBC Three, Comedy Central, CBC, and CTV.
His Dry Bar Comedy special, Everything Goes Wrong, is now streaming on YouTube and remains the first and only comedy special to feature heckling Mormons. In 2025, Hastings headlined his own show at the New York Comedy Festival and regularly performs at The Hollywood Improv, as well as East LA bar shows so hip he was forced to change his haircut.
A COCA Comedian of the Year, Just For Laughs Homegrown Competition winner, Amused Moose Comedy Award winner, and Martin Sims Award nominee, Hastings has built a reputation as one of stand-up’s most relentlessly productive performers. In just fourteen months, he released ten stand-up specials and debuted an hour-long Off-Broadway run in New York City.
John earned a standing ovation on America’s Got Talent after performing to an empty room during the height of COVID and later went viral after being heckled by Dennis Rodman. More recently, his stand-up clips have gained significant traction online, introducing millions of viewers to his uniquely chaotic perspective.
A lifelong and deeply knowledgeable WWE fan, Hastings co-hosts The Wrestler Review, a weekly podcast available wherever podcasts are found. As a result, he has been blocked by four professional wrestlers and once nearly got into a fight with a man named Tazz.
If you see John Hastings live, you’ll leave feeling like you just survived a tornado of laughter. (His manager wrote that sentence. John strongly objects to it.)
