Ella Yurman (she/her) is a comedian, actor, and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. She is the creator and host of Going Down with Ella Yurman, a queer independent political comedy news show on YouTube and Brooklyn public access. She also created and hosted Late Stage Live, which was featured in publications such as Teen Vogue, Jezebel, and them.
In 2026, Ella received a GLAAD Award nomination for Outstanding Online or Print Journalism Article for her profile of Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, in Teen Vogue.
As a writer, Ella has worked for Some More News, a leftist political video essay comedy show, hosted by Cody Johnston. Her long-form journalism can be found on Teen Vogue, Autostraddle, NYU Local, and her Substack, among other places.
As a standup, she’s performed at venues like The Bell House, The Stand, and New York Comedy Club, and opened for notable comics like Robin Tran. In 2022 Ella founded T4T, NYC’s first all-trans standup show, which she co-hosted monthly for two years.
Ella’s political work focuses on antifascist organizing, labor rights, and trans liberation.
