Following the instant success of Chris and Rosie Ramsey’s podcast Shagged. Married. Annoyed, which launched early last year, regularly hitting No. 1 on the download charts and reaching a staggering 18 million downloads worldwide to date, the time has come for the lovable Geordie duo to leave the comfort of their South Shields living room and bring their hit podcast to live stages around the UK, including their home town of Newcastle at the Utilita Arena, which will break the record for the biggest live podcast! Performances start on Thursday 3rd September at the Birmingham Alexandra Theatre and finish on Sunday 27th September at London’s Adelphi Theatre.
In the same vein as their weekly podcast, Chris and Rosie will be chatting all about life, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting, growing up and everything in between, but all in front of a live audience.
Chris said, “We are absolutely over the moon that people enjoy listening to us talk nonsense, so we thought why not let them WATCH us talk nonsense… live! It’ll be a joy to take it out of our house and into such wonderful venues, but mainly, it’ll be a nice change not recording it on a table covered in bits of that day’s breakfast.”
Rosie added, “For years I’ve stayed at home while Chris went out on tour, and now I get to go along with him… still not sure how happy he is about this. I’m mainly looking forward to a few nights away! Like a little holiday.”
As well as a chart topping podcast, a busy 12 months have seen Chris reach the semi-finals of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, release a stand up special Approval Needed on Amazon Prime, and sell out his already extended brand new tour – Chris Ramsey 2020 including the Utilita Newcastle Arena, in addition to Chris & Rosie announcing their very first book together based on the podcast – Shagged. Married. Annoyed by Chris and Rosie Ramsey, which reached No 2 in the Amazon best sellers for pre-orders, crashing the site due to overwhelming demand.
Chris has also hosted The One Show (BBC1), Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp (ITV2) and Virtually Famous (E4), as well as performing on the Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Live at the Apollo (BBC1) and as a regular on Celebrity Juice (ITV2). He also starred as Jack in two series of the critically-acclaimed sitcom Hebburn (BBC2), co-starring Vic Reeves and alongside Rosie on Married to a Celebrity and Parenting for Idiots (Channel 4). Chris has almost 500,000 followers on Twitter.
Rosie’s additional on screen credits include interviewing WWE Superstar John Cena and Hollywood actor Lesley Mann for The Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central. She has also co-hosted the drive-time show on Capital Radio in the North East, MC’d and performed at a huge number of live events as well as sharing the stage and duetting with global pop megastar Ed Sheeran. Most recently, Rosie has amassed an army of followers on Instagram due to her hilariously real and brutally honest depiction of her everyday life through her Instagram stories and VLogs. She has also toured the UK and overseas in various theatre and musical productions throughout her career; singing, dancing and acting. She recently starred in a TV sitcom pilot for My Life Productions and on The Sara Cox Show (ITV).
Tickets will be available on exclusive presale from 10am on Thursday 27th February via See Tickets and Ticketmaster and on General sale from 10am on Friday 28th February.
