Yurie Collins

Yurié Collins is a Japanese American actress, stand-up comedian, and bilingual content creator based in Tokyo. A dual citizen of Japan and the United States, Yurié was born in Wakayama, Japan, and brings a unique bicultural perspective to both her comedy and acting work, seamlessly performing in English and Japanese across international audiences.
She holds a B.A. in Acting and Literature from Emerson College and began her career in New York City, appearing on series including Bull, Gotham, and Orange Is the New Black. Yurié is a SAG member and has continued pursuing theater internationally, recently playing Mercutio in Japanese in Sheep Dog Theater’s production of Romeo & Juliet. She is also slated to play Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing this fall in Tokyo.
In 2021, Yurié expanded into digital comedy, creating original content in both English and Japanese that has earned her a global audience of more than 500,000 followers across platforms. In 2025, she sold out seven performances at the New York Comedy Festival and was named an official “Comic To Watch”, marking a major breakout with U.S. audiences.
Now based in Tokyo, Yurié headlines regularly at Tokyo Comedy Bar, Japan’s premier English-language stand-up comedy venue, where she performs in both English and Japanese. She is also the creator and star of Tokyo Hoe Tales; a monthly one-woman comedy show that consistently sells out and blends stand-up with audience interaction centered around outrageous dating stories and cultural identity.
Yurié’s comedy combines sharp cultural observations with dark, thoughtful humor, offering a rare perspective that bridges Eastern and Western audiences and positions her as a distinctive international voice with strong crossover appeal.
She recently completed a 16-city U.S. tour with The Monsters of Tokyo, a touring showcase featuring five stand-up comedians who came up through Tokyo Comedy Bar. Yurié is also currently developing an original dark comedy series titled Stuck in Japan, inspired by her experiences navigating life as a biracial Japanese-American woman caught between two cultures and identities. Additionally, she is in post-production on her debut hour-long stand-up special.
