It was announced today that New Zealand comedian and writer Nic Sampson is set to return to London’s Soho Theatre with his second solo hour, ‘Yellow Power Ranger’. The news follows a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last year. Nic will be doing a 4 night run from Tuesday 29th April – Saturday 3rd May (excluding Thursday 1st May) at Soho Theatre (Upstairs, 9pm).

When Nic was 18 years old, he played the Yellow Ranger in the 14th season of Power Rangers, something he seems to not be able to let go of. Clinging to his former glory days and the warmth of the spotlight, this shy and humble star is inviting his loyal and passionate fans to a never before attempted cast reunion – don’t worry, the other Rangers are definitely going to be there! Praised for his excellent character comedy, Nic Sampson is set to delight audiences with the tales of his former showbiz days, with surprises in store.

He has also written on the International Emmy award winning short series Inside, the New Zealand sketch series Funny Girls, The Emily Atack Show (ITV 2), the film Paddington in Peru and he has written and starred in The Brokenwood Mysteries. Nic is also an award winning comedian who won Best Newcomer 2014 at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival,  returning to the festival the next year to receive a nomination for the Billy T Award which recognises New Zealand comics with outstanding potential. Aside from his own solo comedy hours, Nic is a founding member of the improv comedy group SNORT, which has a rotating ensemble cast including Rose Matafeo and Alice Snedden, as well as part of the improv comedy group They Seem Nice with Emma Sidi, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and more.
