Florida natives Nicole Machon and Jamie Rice began their creative collaboration at FSU’s College of Motion Picture Arts in 2015 with their award-winning short film EMMA INSPIRED, starring Chelsea Holmes (WELCOME TO FLATCH). After a successful festival run, Nicole and Jamie moved to Brooklyn and continued honing their craft as Two Girls Three Feet, a Co-Directing duo aiming to provide high production value to stories featuring rising comedic talent. Their latest short film I LOVE MY UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR starring Holmes and Meg Stalter (HACKS) earned the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Indie Memphis Film Festival in 2020 and was released online the following year.
In addition to helming accomplished creative projects, Nicole and Jamie’s professional resumes consist of assisting writers, directors, and producers Chris Rock, Nicole Holofcener, Liz Garbus, Fred Berger, Sara Colangelo, Caroline Jaczko, and Cindy Chupack. They have worked in various production roles in New York on critically acclaimed films such as BLACKKKLANSMAN, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, WORTH, LOST GIRLS, BAD EDUCATION, OCEANS 8, HEARTS BEAT LOUD, and ON THE ROCKS as well as television shows BROAD CITY, SEARCH PARTY, MOZART IN THE JUNGLE, DIFFICULT PEOPLE, and YOUNGER.
Although their taste typically aligns when watching and creating comedies that celebrate diverse and inclusive voices and stories, Jamie and Nicole are legally obligated to disclose they do unfortunately remain separately influenced by “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Requiem for a Dream”. However, they are not legally obligated to share who is influenced by each film, so they won’t. Together, the girls and their feet plan on making objectively funny and heartfelt content until they are either court ordered to stop or the world burns down. Either scenario feels equally possible.
