A+E NETWORKS® UK COMMISSIONS AVALON TO PRODUCE NEW DOCUMENTARY SERIES FOR CRIME + INVESTIGATION™

London: 14th September 2018

A+E Networks® UK has commissioned Avalon to produce a new True Crime documentary series, What The Killer Did Next, which is set to premiere on Crime + Investigation™ in the UK early in 2019.

The 8×60 series is a new crime format which begins with a murder. Each episode seeks to find the killer’s motive and discover what kind of a person could commit this crime, not by looking at what happened before the murder but by studying the killer’s behaviour after committing the crime.

The series was ordered by Dan Korn, VP of Programming for A+E Networks UK.

Dan Korn Commented: We’re delighted to be partnering with Avalon and Philip Glennister on a series which examines the process of detection and the study of criminal behaviour from an entirely new angle – it’s as much a study of the criminal mind as it is a story of pioneering detective methods and dogged policing to catch a killer.

What The Killer Did Next follows the success of recent commissions for CI such as Murdertown, Jo Frost on Britain’s Killer Kids and Robbie Coltrane’s Critical Evidence.

What The Killer Did Next is executive produced by and Diana Carter from A+E Networks UK and Jamie Isaacs from Avalon.

Jamie Isaacs, Executive Producer for Avalon, added: “We are delighted to be working with CI on this new series.  As DCI Gene Hunt, Philip was arguably the most iconic no-nonsense Policemen in British TV history and we are delighted he’ll be sharing these shocking and surprising contemporary psychological detective stories, while also offering new insight on the fascinating practices employed during cutting edge police work.”
