Following a month at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe which saw him nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards after performing to sell-out crowds and huge critical acclaim throughout the run, Ahir Shah will embark on a nationwide tour with his new show Control.  Ahir will perform twenty-five shows across the country, beginning with two five-night runs at London’s Soho Theatre from 26th – 30th September and 3rd – 7th October.

Control is the follow up to Ahir’s critically acclaimed 2016 show Machines, and finds him struggling to come to terms with his place on almost every possible losing side in the global struggle for a better world.  An urgent(-ly funny) call to arms over the dangers of complacency in the face of resurgent fascism, Control sees Ahir delivering another hour of his blisteringly polemical stand-up as he tries to work out how to build a brighter future in an age when the worst of the past appears to be winning.

Control is Ahir’s sixth solo show, succeeding Machines (2016), Distant (2015), Texture (2014), Anatomy (2013), and Astrology (2011).  As well as touring nationwide, Ahir has also been making a name for himself internationally, performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Fringe, and the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.  On TV and Radio, Ahir has written and starred in Ahir Shah’s Summer (Sky Arts), and has appeared in Brotherhood (Channel 4), The Midnight Beast (E4), Live at the Electric (BBC Three), Campus (Channel 4) and The Seven Ages of Love (Channel 4).  As a writer he has completed a sitcom pilot script for Channel 4, and has also written for Skins (Channel 4), The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and Newsjack (BBC Radio 4 Extra).
