COME SEE MATT WINNING IN HIS NEW SHOW ‘FILIBUSTER’ AT THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE BEFORE YOU ALL DIE

Comedian, environmental economist and man MATT WINNING will perform at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his brand new show Filibuster, appearing at Just the Tonic at The Mash House, from 3rd – 27th August (excluding 14th) at 5pm.

Filibuster sees MATT musing on the upcoming climate change induced death of human civilisation, which seems determined to take his own sanity into an early, toasty grave along with it.  This “feel good” hour is a sure-fire one to watch for fans of An Inconvenient Truth, as MATT looks at the future of a species seemingly intent on warming itself out of existence.

Glaswegian MATT is the co-creator (along with LOLLY ADEFOPE, MAT EWINS, RICHARD GADD, ADAM HESS and JOHN KEARNS) of the cult hit Bearpit Podcast (Podcast), which is available to download from no good retailers.  MATT first appeared at the Fringe as part of renowned showcase The Comedy Zone in 2013, returning in 2015 with his debut solo show Mugabe and Me (3D), followed in 2016 by Ragnarok, which was recently recorded for comedy VoD platform NextUp.

Away from comedy MATT is an environmental economist at the UCL Energy Institute and UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources.  He provides economic analysis and modelling on subjects such as climate change policy, energy systems, natural capital, and the circular economy, which is less funny but more societally beneficial than his stand-up.
