Following an improvised show for YOKO ONO’s Meltdown at Royal Festival Hall and two sold-out performances in 2013 at Queen Elizabeth Hall, REGGIE WATTS returns to the Southbank Centre, after appearing on the same day at Latitude Festival, on Saturday 16th July. The internationally renowned vocalist / beat boxer / musician / comedian / improviser offers audiences an entirely unpredictable performance through improvising his shows using only his formidable voice and looping pedals, blurring the lines between comedy and music with his unique lyrical style. Ahead of his UK dates, REGGIE is set to perform two shows in the Netherlands at Amersterdam’s Melkweg The Max and Tilburg’s 013 Poppodium on the 13th and 14th July.
As a solo performer, REGGIE was handpicked by CONAN O’BRIEN to open nightly on his sold-out US live tour Prohibited From Being Funny on Television. He released his debut comedy CD/DVD Why $#!+ So Crazy? on Comedy Central Records in 2010 and Reggie Watts Live at Third Man Records as a limited edition vinyl on JACK WHITE’s Third Man Records label. Reggie Watts A Live at Central Park live show premiered on Comedy Central in 2012 and is available through Comedy Central Records and on iTunes.
As a musician, REGGIE currently stars as house band leader on The Late Late Show With James Corden (CBS). REGGIE was invited to join LCD SOUNDSYSTEM at their final spring 2011 New York shows, sang on REGINA SPEKTOR’s Dance Anthem of the 80’s and contributed two tracks to Spaghetti Circus (DFA Records). As the frontman for Seattle rock outfit MAKTUB, REGGIE and his band have released five albums. He has recorded original music featured on Louie (FX) and performed the theme music for KRISTIN SCHAAL’s Penelope Princess of Pets. In spring 2011 he recorded an original session for the popular Daytrotter series.
REGGIE has appeared on US shows Conan (TBS), Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (NBC), Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC), The Yes Men Save The World (HBO), Michael and Michael Have Issues (Comedy Central), John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show (Comedy Central) and in the UK on Funny Or Die. He was a musical cohort on the IFC original series Comedy Bang! Bang! with SCOTT AUKERMAN. Most recently REGGIE has appeared in the Amazon feature film Creative Control directed by BEN DICKINSON. He is also a founding member of JASH.com, alongside fellow founders MICHAEL CERA, SARAH SILVERMAN and TIM and ERIC.
