Creator and host of the award-winning Irishman Abroad podcast, JARLATH REGAN brings his brand new stand-up comedy show, Jarlath Regan: But You Can Call Me Jarlath to London’s West End for the very first time with a one off performance at the Leicester Square Theatre on Friday 30th October. Tickets are available to buy now from leicestersquaretheatre.com for an evening of on-the-ball observation and high-end audience messing in the company of one of the sharpest minds in comedy.
JARLATH REGAN is an Irish comedian, writer, illustrator and lad (in a good way). In 2013 he created the award winning Irishman Abroad podcast series. The collection of long form interviews with well-known Irish emigrants and people of Irish heritage has earned rave reviews from The Guardian, Telegraph and Irish Times, and has featured the likes of Chris O’Dowd, Boy George, Dylan Moran, Lisa Hannigan and Graham Linehan. It is listened to by more than one million people worldwide.
An accomplished television and radio presenter, JARLATH has created and co-hosted content on Ireland’s national broadcaster RTE, performed on Comedy Central’s Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central, The World Stands Up, Last Comic Standing (NBC), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three), Live at The Stand Comedy Club (BBC Radio Scotland), The Blame Game (BBC Radio Ulster), The Panel (RTE) and The Apprentice You’re Fired (TV3). Jarlath’s first published book How To Break Bad News (Transworld for Random House) was an instant Irish bestseller. Jarlath’s second book Putting A Ring On It – What Not To Do When Attempting To Get Married, was released in April 2011, featured more than 200 brand new illustrations and also became a cult hit in his homeland.
A finalist in both the BBC and Channel 4 New Comedy Awards, Since 2007 Jarlath has brought five solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has performed at The Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, The New Zealand Comedy Festival and the Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane festivals as a part of the Best of The Edinburgh Fest Showcase tours.
