TOMMY ROWSON: DOWN AND OUT IN POWYS AND LONDON

TOMMY ROWSON, winner of So You Think You’re Funny 2011 and BBC New Comedy Finalist 2012, presents his highly-anticipated debut show Down and Out in Powys and London at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Join TOMMY as he combines unique observations with bizarre stories featuring bordello belles, vagabonds, vagrants, swindlers, bindlers, drunks, drifters, drug dealers and Jesus…and if that wasn’t enough there’s poetry too. An hour of refreshingly original material set in Wales and London.

Just six months after he started performing stand up, TOMMY was a finalist in the 2011 Laughing Horse New Act competition. Since then he has continued to achieve recognition for his honest and unpredictable comic style. Alongside writing for Baby Cow Productions, World Productions, and BBC Comedy, TOMMY won Cinemagic’s Young Filmmaker of the Year for the short film Arrowman Sam which TOMMY wrote, directed and acted in.

WHAT THE PRESS HAS SAID ABOUT TOMMY ROWSON:

“A distinctive voice. This Welsh weirdo creates a quirky, oddball world – but one with which the rest of us can still easily identify. The anecdotes are full of detailed aside and delivered with perfectly-judged timing” Steve Bennett (Chortle)
Rowson is one of those comics who is genuinely funny… One to watch, this year and next. The Skinny
