HIT THE ROAD MACK 2014 TOUR EXTENDED

It was announced today (04 December 2013) that LEE MACK will extend his brand new tour, Hit The Road Mack in autumn 2014. The new dates will see extra shows in major cities including: London, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Nottingham, Bristol, York and Leicester where tickets are already largely unavailable. Hit The Road Mack will be LEE’s first live stand-up show in four years and follows on from his twice-extended, critically acclaimed tour,Lee Mack: Going Out. Tickets will go on sale from 9am tomorrow.

With tickets to sell-out shows already being sold by touts we are keen to stress to fans that tickets are now available through legitimate booking channels.

LEE MACK said about the tour: “Once again I’m very excited about the prospect of being able to eat Ginsters pasties alone and cold, in some empty service station, at three in the morning.”

LEE has established himself as one of the UK’s most recognisable and celebrated comedy stars. A busy year saw him return to BBC One with a sixth series of his hit sitcom Not Going Out, currently the BBC’s longest running sitcom, which has a Christmas special set to air on Christmas Eve; win a British Comedy Award for Best Male TV Comic, with multiple nominations at the forthcoming 2013 awards; pen his own acclaimed autobiography Mack the Life; return as resident team captain on the sixth series of Would I Lie To You? (BBC ONE); record a new comedy series for Sky One, Duck Quacks Don’t Echo, which is set to transmit in early 2014; and have the honour of co-presenting the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert live from Buckingham Palace (BBC ONE), which peaked at 16.9 million viewers.

What the press said about Lee Mack’s last live show

“Mack is a gag-master of the old school, the twist being that he comes at everything in such a fast, often furious manner that he feels utterly modern. His jokes have the brevity of telegrams. His delivery achieves the mind-blowing quickness of broadband. That whirlwind instability serves to give him a distinctive and treasurable stage personality. Mack is his own man. And, with shows this good, the coming decade should finally see him established as one of British comedy’s greats.”
Dominic Cavendish, Daily Telegraph

“Even before he has played this week’s first gigs he’s proving so popular that he has extended into the autumn. Because what Mack at his best gives us is a pure pleasure in one-liners and artful banter that’s both irascible and innocent. Like his fellow Lancastrian Eric Morecombe, Mack puts in a lot of effort to make himself look effortless. But finely wrought though his act is, he never looks as if he’s trotting through a script.”
Dominic Maxwell, The Times

“No self-indulgence, no slack – just a pro playing hard for our entertainment… Everything Mack does – every daft one-liner, every smirk, slip-up, and sprawl across the stage – is bent on laughs. If I wasn’t laughing so hard, I’d kick back and admire the craftsmanship.”
Brian Logan, The Guardian

“If the scripted skits were skilful though, the high-velocity ad libbing truly earned Mack his stars. His withering put-downs stunned hecklers at a stroke and a sublime off-script all-guns-blazing encore sealed the deal.”
Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard

“Slick, sharp and very funny show from the star of TV’s ‘Not Going Out’… He whirls around the stage like a tornado and you’re never more than thirty seconds away from the next laugh. He is one of the funniest guys out there at the moment and it’s nice to see someone who hasn’t lost his edge even after all these years in the game. Well worth the money!”
Tim Arthur, Time Out

“His gags work because of the hugely warm rapport he builds with his audience, seemingly without effort… That’s because he’s such a craftsman: there’s not a slither of fat on his one-liners, dispensed at a restless pace guaranteed to hit the spot.”
Steve Bennett, The Mail on Sunday
