GREG DAVIES EXTENDS TOUR FOR A THIRD TIME WITH FOUR DATES AT LONDON’S SOUTHBANK CENTRE

GREG DAVIES is set to extend his critically acclaimed, sell-out tour The Back of my Mum’s Head for the third time with four dates at London’s Southbank Centre, bringing the total number of shows to 75, including two sold-out dates at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. GREG will perform at the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre from 16th – 19th December 2013. Tickets for these extra dates go on general sale from 9.00am this Wednesday (27th March.)

GREG DAVIES first came to prominence as psychotic Head of Sixth Form, Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners (Channel 4), a role which he reprised in The Inbetweeners film (the highest grossing British comedy film of all time). Last year GREG starred as Ken in Cuckoo, a brand new series for BBC Three, which attracted over a million viewers on its first episode making it the channel’s most watched comedy launch ever. GREG is now writing and starring in a brand new sitcom Man Down, which will air this autumn on Channel 4 following a successful pilot last year.

GREG’S critically acclaimed, sell-out debut solo show Firing Cheeseballs At A Dog was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2010 and extended three times, taking the total number of dates up to a huge 115 shows. The show was subsequently released on DVD and Blu-ray™ in November 2011 by Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd entering the top 10 in the comedy DVD chart and nominated forBest DVD in the 2012 Chortle Awards.

GREG has also hosted and performed on Live at the Apollo (BBC One), headlined Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave), been a regular team captain on two series of Ask Rhod Gilbert (BBC One), hosted Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two) and appeared on the The Royal Variety Performance 2011 (ITV1). Further TV appearances include Have I Got News for You (BBC One), Would I Lie To You? (BBC ONE), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Frank Skinner’s Opinionated (BBC Two), Mock The Week (BBC Two), The Graham Norton Show (BBC One) and driving through Nepal alongside RHOD GILBERT in World’s Most Dangerous Roads (BBC Two). GREG was nominated for Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist at the British Comedy Awards and The Times Breakthrough Award at the South Bank Show Awards.

GREG was also one third of Edinburgh Comedy Award 2006 and Barry Award 2007 nominated sketch group WE ARE KLANG, with fellow comedians STEVE HALL and MAREK LARWOOD. The trio have performed four critically-acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh shows and made their eponymous debut sitcom series of the same name and one-off entertainment special for BBC Three in 2010.
