Bruce Dessau, The Standard

Following her nomination for ‘Best Show’ at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards last year, Katie Norris is set to return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with her third solo hour, ‘Mother Succubus’. This Fringe run also follows her appearance on the Christmas special of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), where she made her debut as Godmother to the nation.
Fringe audiences will be delighted to hear that Katie will once again be performing a brand new hour of musical comedy, packed to the brim with her signature brand of unhinged comedy and original comedy songs complete with pitch perfect vocals. Over the last year, Katie has found herself moving beyond the role of Godmother and into an unexpected new era: “gay icon” status pending and a reputation as a so-called “man-eating succubus.” In her new show, ‘Mother Succubus’, Katie is set to unpack what happens when a woman is no longer automatically sexualised and whether becoming invisible to men might actually be the most freeing thing that’s ever happened to her. She will touch on a number of topics ranging from menopausal madness and murderous women to sisterhood and relationships, all with a musical theatre edge.
In 2024, Katie made her solo debut with ‘Farm Fatale’, receiving rave reviews across the board, highlighting her electric stage presence and sensational performance. She then went on to perform a sold-out run at London’s prestigious Soho Theatre. Last year, Katie followed up with another hour, ‘Go West, Old Maid’, a run which was once again completely sold out, including extra shows added to keep up with demand from audiences. She once again received high critical praise, making the list of best reviewed shows of the Fringe (British Comedy Guide) and a nod for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for ‘Best Show’. She’s also a past winner of ‘Best Show’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2025, winner of the Musical Comedy Awards 2023, nominee for NextUp’s Biggest Award in Comedy and semi-finalist at the BBC New Comedy Awards 2023.
Katie is well known for being half of the cult comedy duo Norris & Parker, with whom she has had multiple sell-out runs across London and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her success with Norris & Parker saw Katie featured in the top comedy picks from The Guardian, Evening Standard and The Independent. She can be heard as co-host of the recently launched Artists Dates podcast with fellow comedian John Tothill, as well as on BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show, Newsjack and DMs are Open. Later this year, Katie is set to appear on the upcoming Channel 4 series Make That Movie.
