Following a successful pilot, Rum Punch will return to BBC Radio 4 for a full four-part series, beginning on Thursday 27th November at 6.30pm.
Written by and starring Travis Jay (SUPACELL, Black, British and Funny, The Stand Up Sketch Show, Undefeated Podcast), the series follows a multigenerational family as they juggle pursuit of their individual ambitions with their responsibilities to the family business – a Caribbean restaurant in the heart of Lewisham. Travis stars as Marley, a conflict-averse aspiring boxer who works in his parents’ restaurant. The series picks up where the pilot left off, with Marley enrolling in a local gym to develop his (non-existent) boxing talent, against the rest of the family’s wishes.
Travis’ mother and comedy legend Angie Le Mar (Get Up, Stand Up), joins the cast as Angie, Marley’s mother. Kyrah Gray (Bad Education) and Ninia Benjamin (3 Non-Blondes) also join the cast, with the returning cast including Kevin KG Garry (Ted Lasso), Eddie Nestor (The Real McCoy) and Letitia Hector (Famalam), with others to be announced.
Created by Travis Jay, Rum Punch is an Avalon production. Executive Producers are Jon Thoday and Richard Allen Turner, and it is produced by Daisy Knight and Jules Lom. The Commissioning Editor for BBC Radio 4 is Julia McKenzie. The show will be recorded in front of an audience on Wednesday 22nd October & Thursday 6th November 2025 at Theatre Peckham, London.
The pilot of Rum Punch aired on BBC Radio 4 last year, resulting in a BBC Audio Drama award for best sitcom.
