Taskmaster Champion, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee and Pink News Entertainer of the Year 2023 Sophie Duker will tour Europe for the first time as part of a major debut international tour of her critically acclaimed stand-up show But Daddy I Love Her. After selling out her entire four-week run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the sexiest comic alive (please do not factcheck!) will tour to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo and Barcelona from Tuesday 4th March 2025. But Daddy I Love Her is produced by Avalon in association with Berks Nest. Tickets go on-sale Friday 29th November at www.sophieduker.com

But Daddy I Love Her sees Sophie championing delusion, arguing that we should all choose hot wet fantasies over cold, bleak reality. The aspiring hot girl takes swings at capitalism and romance, laments her Catholic mother’s holy water habit and shares the crushing failure of her attempt to score a sugar daddy. Be bonkers, dream big, lose your damn mind! In this show, delulu is the solulu.

Naughty but nice Duker became a familiar face on television with regular appearances and spicy political takes on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2), alongside being featured on Mock the Week (BBC2), Hypothetical (Dave), The Last Leg, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, The Great Pottery Throwdown and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (all Channel 4), while she starred as a contestant in BAFTA and National Comedy Award winning Taskmaster (Channel 4). She became the ultimate victor in her series, and went on to star in Taskmaster: Champion of Champions (Channel 4) earlier this year (losing out on the ultimate glory to Dara O Briain by one teeny tiny point).

Across the airwaves, Duker’s voice can be heard on a variety of the BBC’s flagship political comedy shows, while she is routinely heard on chart topping podcasts including Acaster and Gamble’s Off Menu, Jameela Jamil’s I Weigh, and is a regular on You’re Dead To Me. She has presented documentaries on polyamory and dreams, and hosted the celebrated official companion podcasts to hit shows I May Destroy You and Everything I Know About Love for BBC Sounds.

Elsewhere, Sophie channels her bold comic voice into initiatives such as Fringe of Colour and Black Ticket Project, which she was an early proponent of. Duker is passionate about increasing access and representation in entertainment for black people, POC and other marginalised identities. Her cult comedy night Wacky Racists transferred to Hackney Empire for a mega-show last year, serving up a night of epic comedy chaos championing diversity and performers of colour and under-represented allies in silly, subversive, genre-bending shows.

A supporter of many charities and causes, Sophie is routinely vocal about injustices both within her industry and in the world at large. This summer, Sophie took over the Greenpeace stage at Glastonbury Festival on the Saturday and hosted the field’s inaugural comedy pageant “Miss (Burning!) World”. In July, Sophie co-hosted The Just Like Us Awards 2024 alongside activist Dr Ronx Ikharia, an annual event celebrating exceptional efforts in promoting LGBT+ inclusivity in schools and workplaces. During the full run of the show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Sophie ran her own “Sugar Daddy” scheme, which provided 250 £5 tickets to people of colour and anyone unwaged or on a low income.

In 2023 Sophie was awarded the PinkNews Entertainer of The Year Award, beating icons like Rina Sawayama, Rosie Jones, Sam Smith and Mawaan Rizwan. She is the first comedian to have hosted The Booker Prize. She won the 2021 Funny Women Best Comedy Writer Award, as voted by producers, head writers and execs across the industry, and was one eight comedians selected to be a part of Just For Laughs’ International New Faces line up for the 2022 Festival.

On stage, Duker’s debut Edinburgh Fringe Show, Venus, saw her nominated for the Best Newcomer award, leading to a two week sold out run at Soho Theatre. Her sophomore show Hag in 2022 sold-out its entire run in advance of the festival starting and the subsequent 60 date UK and Ireland sell out tour included London runs at Soho Theatre, Bloomsbury Theatre and Leicester Square Theatre was extended to keep up with demand for tickets.
