‘DOGS BEHAVING (VERY) BADLY’ LEADS THE WAY WITH NEW COMMISSION SECURING OVER 100 EPISODES OF THE CHANNEL 5 HIT SHOW

London 19th June 2024 – It was announced today that a new 32-show order (series seven and eight) from Channel 5 will see ratings and critical hit primetime series Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly pass the iconic 100-episode milestone with 109 shows now commissioned from Avalon.

First appearing on Channel 5 at the start of 2019, Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly quickly went on to become a ratings success for Channel 5, with the latest achieving a peak average audience of 1.2 million and ranking as the highest-performing factual entertainment format on Channel 5 over the last four years.

Dog’s Behaving (Very) Badly sees master dog trainer, Graeme Hall, on a mission to restore dog/human relationships across the country.  With years of experience and no-nonsense advice, he has built his reputation on finding easy to follow training techniques and long-lasting fixes to almost any unwanted dog behaviour.  His mantra is clear… “any dog, any age, any problem”.

Channel 5 Commissioning Editor, Factual, Kit Morey said: “As a HUGE dog lover, (shush, don’t tell my cats) being part of the Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly gang is an utter joy. Reaching 100 episodes is testament to Graeme and his understanding of our four-legged friends and each and every dog we feature is unique and oh so loved by their owners, and each and every owner learns something about themselves as well as how to help their dog be better behaved, leading to more harmonious homes, everywhere!”

Jamie Isaacs, Executive Producer for Avalon said, “I’d like to say a huge thanks to Graeme, Channel 5 and our brilliant production team for all their work on such a great show. I am delighted that Dogs Behaving (very) Badly entertains millions of fans in the UK and worldwide.”

Graeme Hall, master dog trainer said, “I’m delighted we’ve hit the milestone of 100 episodes commissioned of the UK show. Time flies! 300 cases (with up to six dogs per case) means SO many dogs and people helped along the way (which makes Yours Truly very happy). As long as the viewers love watching the show, we’ll love making it for you. So, here’s to the next 100, I say… woof woof!!”

Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly was commissioned by Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor, Factual, Kit Morey.  Recent Avalon factual shows include, Extraordinary Extensions (Channel 4), Naked, Alone and Racing To Get Home (E4), and Trippin’ with Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris (E!/Peacock). Executive producers are Jamie Isaacs and Tim Quicke.

A hit internationally, in 2023 Network 10 in Australia made an initial new eight show series of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly Australia and increased to a 10-show order for Series 2. The original show has also been picked up by other broadcasters worldwide, including Australia’s Seven Network, Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1, Sweden’s TV4, Finland’s YLE, Norway’s TV2, Belgium’s SBS, Canada’s CBC and CBS Reality channel EMEA.
