EXTRA LONDON DATES ADDED FOR PIERRE NOVELLIE’S ‘WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?’ TOUR

One of the great talking points of this year’s Fringe… pulls huge big laughs… you’ll still be laughing about it as you walk away up the cobbled streets
Claire Smith, The Scotsman

One of the most masterful displays of pure stand-up I’ve seen this year… he’s one of the best we’ve got

Thursday 28th March – Comedian Pierre Novellie has added 2 extra London dates as part of his new tour, ‘Why Are You Laughing?’. He is currently on a 10 night run at Soho Theatre, Downstairs (until Saturday 6th April) which now includes an extra night on Saturday 30th March (9.15pm), making it 11 nights in total. The comic will also be performing at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on Saturday 22nd June.

This follows a critically acclaimed full month run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year, which also saw Pierre place in the ‘Best-reviewed Edinburgh Fringe shows 2023’ for the third time. Having found the answer to the title of his 2022 show, ‘Why Can’t I Just Enjoy Things?’ thanks to a heckler correctly diagnosing him with autism, Pierre now turns the question to the audience and asks ‘Why Are You Laughing?’. The observational comic explains UK drinking culture, fantasy novels and how a dog stopped him learning the saxophone.

Tickets to Pierre’s Soho Theatre run on sale now at

Pierre’s stand up special, ‘Quiet Ones’, has reached over 400,000 views on YouTube and his television writing and performance credits include Mock The Week (BBC2), The Mash Report (BBC2), Spitting Image (ITV/Britbox), Stand Up Central (Comedy Central), as well as appearing on World’s Most Dangerous Roads (Dave). He is a regular co-host of The Frank Skinner Show on Absolute Radio and is the co-host of the BudPod podcast with fellow comedian and friend Phil Wang, where they have reached 4 million downloads to date. His other audio work includes co-hosting BBC Sounds’ Obsessed With… SAS: Rogue Heroes where he unpacks the BBC drama series with Spencer Matthews, The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).

As well as his upcoming run at Soho Theatre as part of his brand new tour, three time Chortle award nominee Pierre will also be seen at the Gielgud Theatre, supporting comedy legend Frank Skinner who is returning to the West End for a 2 week run in February 2024 (Monday 5th – Saturday 17th February).

Previous praise for Pierre Novellie

packed full of belly laughs…impressively well written, perfectly building and building and rich with detail – each topic could be a full show on its own. Novellie delivers it all with real astuteness and skill, at once relaxed and arresting
Sharon Lougher, Metro

Hilarious…he will go far
Dominic Maxwell, The Times

the laughs keep coming… Novellie is every inch the assured, smart-jacketed storyteller… Novellie might not be a fan of them but this clearly warrants a handful of his dreaded crying laughing emojis
