RICHARD HERRING’S HIT BBC RADIO 4 FAMILY COMEDY-DRAMA, RELATIVITY, STARRING ALISON STEADMAN AND PHIL DAVIS, RETURNS FOR A FOURTH SERIES ON FRIDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

“Warning: a crying baby dominates the first minute. This is bold… this show’s punchy script confidently uses it to heighten the laughter that soon follows.”
Gillian Reynolds, The Sunday Times

“the keenly observed semi-autobiographical comedy… creator Richard Herring’s voice is instantly recognisable.”
Ali Catterall, The Guardian

Drawing on his own family, the fourth series of Richard Herring’s popular comedy drama, Relativity, builds on warm, lively characters and sharply observed family dynamics of inter generational misunderstanding, sibling sparring and the ties that bind.

With a cast including Alison Steadman, Phil Davis and Richard Herring, amidst the comedy, Richard broaches some more serious highs and lows of family life. In this series, set during the first year of lockdown, he draws on his own experience of testicular cancer at that time, as well as the comedic escapades of the 4 generations of the Snell family. Love, laughter and malapropisms abound.

Richard Herring is a comedian, writer, blogger and podcaster and the world’s premier semi-professional self-playing snooker player.

Written by Richard Herring, Relativity is an Avalon production for BBC Radio 4. Executive Producers are Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner for Avalon.  Series fourth was directed by Polly Thomas, produced by Daisy Knight with sound design by Eloise Whitmore.

The fourth series of Relativity first airs on Friday 2nd September, from 11.30am to 12.00pm on BBC Radio 4 and on BBC Sounds.
