FORMER WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI AND DEPUTY LABOUR PARTY LEADER TOM WATSON ANNOUNCED AS UPCOMING GUESTS ON UNSPUN WITH MATT FORDE

Former White House Communications Director and member of Donald Trump’s inner circle, and now reportedly on the list of people banned by the President from venturing inside the White House,  Anthony Scaramucci  will be appearing in the last episode in the current series of Unspun with Matt Forde on Dave next Sunday 18th March. Meanwhile, this weekend Forde’s guest is Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Tom Watson.

Series four of Unspun with Matt Forde has seen former Labour Advisor turned stand-up comedian Matt Forde offer his sharp take on breaking news and current affairs while also delving into the more human side of Britain’s leading political figures, interviewing Alastair Campbell, Yvette Cooper, Lord Adonis, Vince Cable, Nadine Dorries and Justine Greening in the studio.

“Unspun has quickly established itself as the official opposition to mainstream political debate with its smart mix of comedy, satire and debate – not only attracting big laughs but some of the biggest names in British politics onto the show”  Tim Glanfield, Radio Times

Unspun With Matt Forde has been nominated for Best Entertainment Programme at the Broadcast Digital Awards, and over the first three series Matt welcomed guests including Tony Blair, Harriet Harman, and Ann Widdicombe. The highly topical political comedy chat show is recorded on the same evening of transmission, with an extended in-depth version Unspun XL with Matt Forde broadcast later that week, taking the series four run to 8×30′ and 8×60′. In addition to Matt tackling some of the biggest stories in politics including EU divorce bills, Westminster hatches and dispatches and the impending impeachment of Donald Trump (the last one might be wishful thinking), he has also been joined by special guest comedians to unpick the week’s events. Of course no episode would be complete without the backing of the country’s only rock band made up of current and former politicians, MP4.

Matt said “One of the great benefits of the impending global recession, rising sea levels and a nuclear war is that I get to sit behind a desk and make snarky comments about it all and I think we’d all agree that’s a price worth paying”

The final two episodes of this series of Unspun with Matt Forde will air Sunday 10th and Sunday 18th March, 10pm on Dave.

Unspun XL with Matt Forde airs Wednesdays, 11pm on Dave.

What the Press has said about Unspun with Matt Forde:

“Proving that politics doesn’t have to be as dull as ditchwater and that there is still a place for informed satire, Matt Forde is back with a series that in its first season last year proved to be both funny and intellectually literate…Forde consistently demonstrates he has his finger on the pulse as he interviews leading political figures” ★★★★ Mark Wareham, Mail On Sunday

“Dave has pulled off a coup by getting Matt Forde to present this topical programme, fresh from his success at the Edinburgh Festival…a political show for people who find political shows boring. Forde does impressions, interviews MPs and tries to make sense of a world that makes no sense.  He is a funny — and sensible — guy.” David Chester, The Times

“The show attracts a high calibre of guest … expect overarching joviality” Michael Hogan, Daily Telegraph

“Unspun with Matt Forde … is supposed to be a political comedy show but it is in danger of becoming the best forum for politicians to have their voices heard in a calm, reasonable way.” Steve Hendry, The Sunday Mail

“Matt Forde’s political comedy chat show is always a real treat, not only offering an irreverent, up-to-the-minute take on what’s happening at Westminster but, refreshingly, allowing political figures of all persuasions to reveal themselves as actual human-ish beings.” Mike Ward, Critics Choice in The Daily Express

“Given his status as a resolute Blairite, Matt Forde occupies an unpopular niche in the British political landscape. What with the current dangerous tendency of people on all sides to simply hear what they want to hear, this makes him the perfect candidate to present a topical comedy show. Expect a few mangled sacred cows as Forde cheerfully upsets Brexiters and Corbynites alike.” Andrew Mueller, The Guardian Guide

“Between the turmoil of Brexit and the constant flow of headlines generated by the Trump administration, Matt Forde (…) has no shortage of material for his returning political satire. … a mix of interviews, riffs and impressions, recorded on the evening of transmission.” Robin Wiggs, Daily Mail Weekend

“Can I warmly recommend Unspun With Matt Forde. Up-to-the-minute, witty, yes, funny (which means laughter if it’s been too long), Forde has the knack of dealing with a serious subject and getting some excellent gags” David Stephenson, Sunday Express

“[Matt’s] interview with Tony Blair was deservedly acclaimed” Andrew Mueller, Guardian Guide
