The caustic Texan offers up strong opinions on dating, pop culture and the state of her nation with an unapologetic, come-get-some attitude… terrifyingly honest, quick-fire stories with hilarious pay-offs ★★★★ Time Out UK
Following a sold-out and critically acclaimed run at the Soho Theatre in 2015, the smart, brazen and straight talking US comic Iliza Shlesinger returns to perform her new show Iliza Shlesinger Live at London’s prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) on the 17th April, Manchester’s Lowry Theatre on the 16th April and Birmingham’s Glee Club on the 18th April in 2018.
Earlier this year, Iliza hosted her own self-styled late night talk show Truth & Iliza (on Freeform, formerly ABC Family) which crossed between social commentary, politics, pop culture and her own brand of feminism. Her first book Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity, a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman’s approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships will be published through Hachette Book Group and released in Nov 2017.
Iliza’s debut one-hour comedy special, War Paint, reached number 1 on the iTunes charts and was named one of its Top 10 Albums of 2013. Her follow-up Netflix specials Freezing Hot (2015) and Confirmed Kills (2016), sealed her title as one of the hottest touring acts in America, with Esquire Magazine listing her as one of the top working comedians today. She is also the only female and youngest comedian to hold the title of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Her live appearances welcome a dedicated fan base who show their loyalty through wearing Iliza inspired swag creations.
Originally from Dallas, Iliza moved to Los Angeles where she spends time making up songs and nicknames for her dog Blanche. Other TV credits include multiple appearances on NBC’S The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show and CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden. Additionally, her digital scripted series, Forever 31 is currently streaming on ABCd and Hulu and has already been picked up for a second season.
