Star of Mock the Week on BBC Two and BBC America’s Almost Royal ED GAMBLE has announced a rescheduled show at London’s Leicester Square Theatre on 17th February, with an additional performance added for the following night.  Originally scheduled to take place on 25th November last year, the show became a casualty of the electrical blackout that brought London’s West End to a standstill and closed theatres across the city (predictably, the lights turned back on just as the assembled audience members had left the building).

The two shows will see ED complete his first ever nationwide stand-up tour as he tackles some of the biggest issues preoccupying us all in 2017 – gender, language, cauliflower – with his latest show Stampede.  ED first performed the show at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, playing to critical acclaim and sold out audiences throughout the run.

With two series of Almost Royal (BBC America’s first original comedy commission, also broadcast on E4 in the UK) ED has been making a name for himself in the US, and is one of only a handful of British comedians to perform stand up on Conan (TBS).  Closer to home ED has become a regular face on Mock the Week (BBC Two), and his TV credits also include a headline set on the second series of Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central), Drunk History (Comedy Central), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Two), Virtually Famous (E4), Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC Three), and Dave’s One Night Stand (UKTV).  ED also co-wrote an episode from the third series of Man Down (Channel 4) which he appeared in – his second time on the show, having featured as a different character in the first series.

On stage, ED has performed as tour support for GREG DAVIES, CHRIS ADDISON and RUSSELL KANE, and was awarded the Chortle Award for Best Compere in 2014.  With RAY PEACOCK, ED co-wrote and co-hosted the iTunes Chart topping and Chortle Award nominated Peacock and Gamble Podcast, and performed live shows at the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringes.  2015 saw ED complete a successful run at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, followed by a month at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his second solo show, Lawman, playing to critical acclaim and sold out audiences throughout.
