Critically acclaimed UK stand-up and one half of the team behind global hit podcast The Bugle (along with host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight JOHN OLIVER) ANDY ZALTZMAN will bring his unique interactive show Satirist For Hire to US shores for the first time. ANDY will begin at Washington DC’s Sixth and I on 24th September, before heading across the country with dates in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles. A show where no two performances are ever the same, Satirist For Hire invites audience members to suggest people, places, groups, animals, inanimate objects, abstract concepts and more ahead of the show as targets for a bespoke satirical takedown by one of the UK’s leading political comedians.
For over a decade ANDY has been a frequent collaborator of JOHN OLIVER, and together they have written and presented satirical podcast The Bugle since its inception in 2007. Over the past nine years The Bugle has become one of iTunes’ most popular and critically acclaimed comedy podcasts, with a huge global fanbase including a prominent US audience. The show has seen over 70 million downloads across nearly 300 episodes, with thousands of 5 star reviews from listeners. The podcast will relaunch later this month, with ANDY joined by a revolving group of regular co-hosts including former Daily Show correspondent WYATT CENAC. Outside The Bugle ANDY and JOHN have also worked together on shows including Political Animal (BBC Radio 4), The Culture Show (BBC Two), and The Department (BBC Radio 4).
