“very funny…a generational cri de couer”
Brian Logan, The Guardian
“Shah has always had a burning passion at his fingertips and the gags to back up his fire, but everything appears to have crystallised wonderfully in Machines”

Jay Richardson, The Scotsman
Following a month at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe which saw him playing to critical acclaim and sold out audiences with his brand new show Machines, AHIR SHAH will embark on his most extensive nationwide tour to date, beginning at The Stand in Edinburgh on 14th September.
Machines sees AHIR examining phenomena as diverse as the rise of ISIS, the rise of Donald Trump, and the rise of the xeno-lizard illuminati as he looks at a world full of possibilities for the future, yet unable to shake off the reactionary forces seeking to hold us back. Returning to his inimitable blend of personally revealing, socially conscious and philosophically engaged stand-up, AHIR makes right-on points about democracy, terrorism and technology, and tells some jokes too.
Machines is AHIR’s fifth solo show, succeeding Distant (2015), Texture (2014), Anatomy (2013), and Astrology (2011). 2016 has also seen AHIR making a name for himself internationally, performing at the Adelaide Fringe and the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. On TV and Radio, AHIR has appeared in Brotherhood (Channel 4), The Midnight Beast (E4), Live at the Electric (BBC Three), Campus (Channel 4) and The Seven Ages of Love (Channel 4). As a writer he has completed a sitcom pilot script for Channel 4, and has also written for Skins (Channel 4), The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and Newsjack (BBC Radio 4 Extra).
