TIFF STEVENSON ANNOUNCES MAD MAN UK & IRELAND TOUR

“This is a heartfelt, hilarious, provocative, important hour of stand-up from one of the best in the business.” ★★★★★ The Sunday Herald

“It’s punchy and political but in the best, most human sort of way” ★★★★★ The Mirror

What makes a person? Ideas, labels, sexuality or even slogan t-shirts? When the cult of personality reigns supreme and the only religion is a technological one, TIFF STEVENSON asks are we being sold our identities in her latest show Mad Man.

Fresh from receiving an impressive array of ten four or five star reviews, positioning Mad Man in the top 25 shows most loved by the press at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August (British Comedy Guide), and supporting ED BYRNE (Mock The Week) on a national tour, TIFF is set to bring her new show to theatres around the UK from January to April, including a performance at London’s Leicester Square Theatre on Thursday 31st March.

TIFF is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer. Well established at Edinburgh festival, Mad Man is the sixth solo show she has performed at the Fringe, following on from her previous successes Uncomfortably Numb, Cavewoman, Dictators, Along Came a Spider and Optimist which have all been met rave reviews. In 2012 Uncomfortably Numb was awarded the Mervyn Stutter’s Spirit of the Fringe award and has since inspired TIFF to make a documentary exploring plastic surgery, ageing and our perceptions of women’s faces further, which is currently in production.

Quickly becoming a well-known face on television screens, 2015 saw TIFF play series regular Tanya in BBC3’s hit mockumentary People Just Do Nothing, which will be returning in 2016 for two more series, join the panel twice on Mock The Week (BBC Two), perform on Comedy Central’s Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central, be a guest on Dave’s Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, recount a story on Comedy History’s Drunk History and become the UK correspondent on for the new Australian satirical programme The Weekly With Charlie Pickering which continues in to the New Year. Other credits include The Office (BBC Two), The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC Two), Only Joking (Sky), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Two), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), Celebrity Deal or No Deal (Channel 4) and Safeword (ITV2).

On the Radio, TIFF has been a guest on Front Row (BBC Radio 4), MacCaulay & Co (BBC Radio Scotland) and makes regular appearances on the Comedy Club (BBC Radio 4 Extra), 7 Day Saturday & Sunday with Al Murray (BBC Radio 5 Live) and Breaking the News and The Good, the Bad and the Unexpected (BBC Radio Scotland).

TIFF also writes opinion pieces for the Metro newspaper and hosts Old Rope, a weekly live show, which has enjoyed a succession of sell-out runs at Edinburgh festival. Old Rope showcases new material from established headline acts and plays to a full house every Monday night in London.
