“Without question one of the funniest sketch shows on the Fringe” GQ
Critically acclaimed sketch duo Thünderbards return to Edinburgh with their third successive hour of comedy. Tipped as “one of the UK’s most promising emerging sketch acts” (Edinburgh Festivals Magazine), Thünderbards create surreal scenes, vibrant characters and off-beat jokes, as silly as they are scholarly. Chapter III follows the boys as they strive to get through every book in their local public library in the hour before its inevitable closure.
The duo comprised of GLENN MOORE and MATT STEVENS have quickly established themselves in the comedy circuit, receiving recognition across a variety of platforms. They will be appearing on BBC Radio 4’s new series of Sketchorama hosted by ISY SUTTIE, which will be broadcast during August, and last year reached the Finals in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition. In 2014, two jokes from their Edinburgh show Seconds made the Top Ten Funniest Jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe features in the Daily Mirror and the Edinburgh Evening News and in 2013 they were voted one of GQ’s Top Ten Funniest Shows at the Fringe and London Sketchfest’s Runners Up.
Outside of Thünderbards, GLENN has also been awarded Runner Up in the 2011 Chortle Student Comedy competition and was a finalist in the 2012 Foster’s So You Think You’re Funny competition. Since then, he’s gone on to regularly perform across the UK, for the likes of Jongleurs, Off The Kerb and Komedia. At the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe, he was part of the prestigious AAA Stand-Up Late showcase show. As a writer, Glenn’s known for his silly one-liners on Twitter, and has also written for BBC Radio shows including The Now Show and News Jack. Similarly, MATT is also an experienced improvisational comedian and regularly performs with the London-based improv group Do Not Adjust Your Stage who have a residency at the Natural History Museum, have toured internationally with sell-out shows across Europe and recently headlined at the famous UCB Theatre in New York.
