Edinburgh-born, double BAFTA nominated IAIN STIRLING returns with his third run at the Soho Theatre on the 17th and 18th April and invites us in to those moments in life which have made him reconsider everything. With a newly adopted and brutally honest approach, IAIN discusses the self-exploration that comes with learning to live without the unconditional love of a partner and throws in a few knob gags for good measure. Taking us on a journey involving heartbreak, immigration and meeting Jedward, IAIN’S 2014 Edinburgh Fringe show Everything follows the critically acclaimed and completely sold out shows Happy To Be The Clown? and Iain Stirling At Home which he performed at the festival over the previous two years.
IAIN burst onto the comedy scene whilst studying for a Law degree at Edinburgh University, reaching the finals of both the Paramount Funniest Student competition (2009), and the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year competition (2009). Just one week after graduating, IAIN found himself on a train down to London to begin presenting on CBBC and just two years later he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Children’s Presenter (2011) which was followed last year with another nomination in this category.
A driving force behind the concept of comedy panel show The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), IAIN co-wrote and hosted two series which had celebrity guests including SUSAN CALMAN, ROMESH RANGANATHAN and MTV’s JOEL DOMMETT. IAIN has performed on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three), appeared on The 50 Funniest Moments of 2014 (Chanel 4) and as a panellist on Fake Reaction (ITV2) and Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC Three), recorded a Radio One takeover, The Now Show (Radio 4) and The 4 O’Clock Show with Mel Giedroyc (Radio 4 Extra) and is currently developing a sitcom for BBC Three with DANIEL SLOSS. In 2013 IAIN was a special guest for RUSSELL KANE on his nationwide tour.
IAIN has written for, developed and presented a number of other CBBC projects, including; Help! My Supply Teacher Is Magic, 12 Again and All Over the Place. His love of football has led him to commentate for CBBC’s Red Button Coverage of the World Cup and he has also appeared on CBBC’s Match of the Day Kickabout.
