DAVE GORMAN GETS STRAIGHT TO THE POINT* (*THE POWERPOINT) TEN-NIGHT RUN IN NEW YORK AND MAJOR UK EXTENSION ADDED TO SELL-OUT TOUR

It was announced today (28th November 2014), hot on the heels of the ratings and critical hit second series of Dave Gorman Modern Life Is Goodish, that DAVE GORMAN has added 49 new dates for 2015. In advance of the 39-date extension to the sell-out UK tour of Dave Gorman Gets Straight To The Point… (The Powerpoint) in October and November, DAVE will return to New York for a ten-night run off-Broadway in January – he has had two sell-out runs with previous live shows and appeared on many US TV shows including The Late Show with Dave Letterman, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Tickets went on general sale at 9am today.

Yes. That’s right. It’s a Powerpoint presentation. We know what you’re thinking. But don’t worry…we think you’re in pretty safe (and funny) hands. You won’t need to take notes and you almost certainly won’t be tested on it later.

DAVE’s live career has seen him sell out multiple tours of the UK, have two six-week runs off-Broadway in New York extended to three months (but that can’t happen this time as he has to return straight after the run to start work on series three of Modern Life Is Goodish), complete a successful four-month tour of the USA and become responsible for the fastest selling show in the history of the Studio Theatre at The Sydney Opera House. Live performances have also earned him the title of Best One Person Show at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival (twice), as well as nominations for the Perrier Award, the South Bank Award (alongside EDDIE IZZARD and Little Britain) and two nominations for the prestigious American Drama Desk Award, where he was up against – among others – the legend, BILLY CRYSTAL. This is DAVE’s first new live tour show in three years and follows on from Powerpoint Presentation, which went on a three-time-extended nationwide tour of the UK.

DAVE will return to (channel) Dave with a third series of, Modern Life Is Goodish in autumn 2015. An instant audience hit, the debut series in 2013 was the highest rating new commission on Dave, and, with ratings growing further during the extended second series in autumn 2014, the show became the most popular original comedy commission ever for network, with UKTV estimating over 6 million viewers tuning in for the series.

About Dave Gorman Gets Straight To The Point… (The Powerpoint):

“in the same way that Michael Palin brightens up travelogues, Gorman’s skill is to cast fresh comic light on the familiar, picking previously unseen holes in song lyrics or playing ingenious pranks on unsuspecting cybersurfers… a winning mix of inventiveness, charm and jokes… there is no need to draw a graph to calculate that this is an extremely entertaining evening”
★★★★ Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard

About Dave Gorman in the USA

(Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack Adventure) “Mr Gorman delivers his half-embarrassed tales with the precision of Mussolini’s trains, and his magnetic performance displays some of the oddball intensity of the earlier routines of Steve Martin.”
Jason Zinoman, The New York Times

Are You Dave Gorman?

“As the cliche puts it: what’s in a name? If the name happens to be Dave Gorman, the answer is: one very funny show. Mr. Gorman is the sort of comedian who can – and does – mine laughter from reading a phone book.”
New York Times
