In a bid to find himself, 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee CARL DONNELLY spent last year travelling around India after the end of a relationship. Unfortunately what he found out is that he’s a bit of an idiot. Following a sold out, month long run at Edinburgh Festival, CARL will perform ‘Now That’s What I Carl Donnelly! Volume 6’, an hour of storytelling by CARL where he will recount his recent ludicrous antics including drinking suspect tea, Veganism and body art, at the Soho Theatre from 3rd-7th February.
An Edinburgh Fringe favourite, CARL’s conversational sense of humour landed him a nomination for the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award and a 2009 nomination for Best Newcomer. He has won Best Newcomer at The Chortle Awards (2007) Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (2007) andLaughing Horse New Act of the Year (2006). Known internationally as well as in the UK, Carl has performed at some of the biggest comedy festivals in the world including; Montreal Just for Laughs, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Kilkenny Cat Laughs.
Away from the live stage, CARL DONNELLY is a frequent face on television and radio and has made appearances on: Mock The Week (BBC Two), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three), Stand Up For The Week (Channel 4) and Dave’s One Night Stand. His radio credits include: BBC 5Live’s The Back End of Next Week, Loose Ends (BBC Radio 4) and Act Your Age (BBC Radio 4), CARL is also a regular guest on TalkSPORT.
Last year CARL and fellow-comic CHRIS MARTIN re-launched the Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin Comedy Podcast on Soundcloud which has gained over 40,000 subscribers to date. The boys podcasted throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last August and were joined by a host of comic guests.
