ALEX HORNE TO EMBARK ON UK TOUR

On the 25th anniversary of his first live show, and after a sell-out run at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the cage-fighting Capricorn comedian ALEX HORNE presents his brand new UK tour Lies, with six consecutive nights at London’s Soho Theatre. Tickets are available to buy now at www.alexhorne.com.

ALEX has done a lot of things in his life – he’s bungee jumped off the Eiffel tower, been punched by John Prescott and came second in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest – but one thing he hasn’t done much is tell the truth. He’s told jokes – an awful lot of jokes, a lot of awful jokes. And he’s done a load of lovely shows using PowerPoint, Tim Key and a handful of musicians. But he’s never just talked honestly about himself. So this year the Oscar-winning former squaddie might do just that. He’ll talk about his extraordinary life with candour and, of course, heapfuls of hilarity. My God, it’ll be hilarious. He’ll throw out the gimmicks and speak only the truth. Definitely.

To date ALEX has brought eight solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including 2003’s Best Newcomer Perrier Award nominated Making Fish Laugh and 2004’s Chortle Award winning Every Body Talks. The three-time Countdown champion comic has hosted two series of the acclaimed Alex Horne Presents: The Horne Section (BBC Radio 4) with a third scheduled for 2014 and hosted Nevermind the Buzzcocks in 2012.
Ends

Lies runs from Wednesday 18th September – Saturday 29th March
