Due to phenomenal demand, THE HORNE SECTION have announced extra performances of their barnstorming new show this Friday and Saturday and on every subsequent Friday throughout the Fringe. Taking place at midnight, these extra dates follow on from a third consecutive sell-out run at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival.
With the freedom to show off unexpected talents with a live, bespoke musical accompaniment, stars including AL MURRAY, JIMMY CARR, GREG DAVIES, TIM VINE, SIMON AMSTELL, HARRY HILL, TIM MINCHIN, SUGGS and THE DIVINE COMEDY’S NEIL HANNON have all joined the HORNE SECTION to perform well-loved material, spontaneous song and previously unseen party pieces. This summer, confirmed guests will include; DAVID BADDIEL, NICK HELM, AL MURRAY, SHAUN KEAVENY, SHLOMO, CHRIS RAMSEY, LE GATEAU CHOCOLAT, SIMON EVANS and RICHARD HERRING
Stand-up comedian ALEX HORNE is the creator and host of THE HORNE SECTION. The band has enjoyed sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010, 2011 and 2012 as well as at The Soho Theatre, Lyric Theatre – Shaftesbury Avenue, The Criterion Theatre and The Hackney Empire. They have hosted two series of the successful ALEX HORNE PRESENTS THE HORNE SECTION on BBC Radio 4 and hosted an episode of Nevermind the Buzzcocks at the end of 2012.
THE HORNE SECTION are: JOE AUCKLAND (trumpet, banjo), PETER GROGAN (saxophone), WILL COLLIER (bass), BEN REYNOLDS (drums and percussion) and Ed Sheldrake (keyboards, keytar). Further to Live in a Cow, the boys will be bringing their brand-new barnstorming children’s show to the Festival with The Horne Section’s Family Bash. ALEX also performs Lies, his first solo show since 2011, at the Pleasance Two.
