Barry Award Best Newcomer Nominee (2016) and Billy T Award Winner (2013) ROSE MATAFEO returns to Soho Theatre for an extended run of her celebrated Edinburgh Fringe debut Rose Matafeo is Finally Dead from the 15th to 17th of June.

 

ROSE has staged the funeral of her dreams to rave reviews from both audiences and critics after sell-out runs at the New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Join ROSE as she commemorates the end of existence while she’s still there to enjoy the party. Expect visits from her mother, impressive lip-syncing, and intern Stephen making his mark on the biggest day of her (after)life.

 

ROSE started stand-up at the age of 15 and has since staged five solo shows as part of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. In 2010 she won Best Newcomer at the NZICF (New Zealand International Comedy Festival), and went on to win the prestigious Billy T Award (2013). ROSE has also featured on the 2014 and 2015 NZ International Comedy Gala and has opened for REGGIE WATTS in both New Zealand and the UK.

 

ROSE is a regular face on TV screens having appeared on Have I Got News For You (BBC 1) in the UK, while in New Zealand ROSE is the head writer and star of Funny Girls (TV3) and a regular on panel show 7 Days (Three Now NZ). She has also written and starred on New Zealand comedy show Jono And Ben At Ten (TV3, NZ) where she interviewed the likes of AMY POEHLER, JIM CARREY, BILL HADER, and AMY SCHUMER. Rose has acted in LIAM WILLIAMS’ web series Pls Like (BBC Three) and starred in an episode of TOM CRAINE’s Climaxed (BBC Three).
