“Tickets for Skinner's cabaret cost a tenner - which is hard to sneeze at, even in the chilly depths of this discontented winter. …Skinner is the ideal compere for this event: a comic everyman and a great ad-libber.”
Brian Logan, The Guardian
“An ambitious enterprise and the opening night did not disappoint. Skinner was in his element as compere, tack-sharp and topical… deserves a financier-sized bonus for his efforts… one would have to be clinically depressed not to enjoy an evening like this.”
Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard
It was announced today (06 March 2009) that Frank Skinner’s Credit Crunch Cabaret - the show that gives financially shaken Londoners the chance to experience a variety of award-winning acts for a £10 ticket - has been extended by five extra dates. With the original run an almost immediate sell out, the extension tickets will be the first to be made available since January. The show will take a one week break after the present run, before resuming its Monday night residency at the Lyric Theatre from 23rd March.
Credit Crunch acts from the present run, who all agreed to perform for a fraction of their usual rate to ensure this very low West End ticket price, include (in alphabetical order): CHRIS ADDISON, SIMON BRODKIN, IAN BROUDIE (THE LIGHTNING SEEDS), HUGH CORNWELL (THE STRANGLERS), FASCINATING AIDA, CONNIE FISHER, DAVE GORMAN, RICHARD HERRING, RUSSELL HOWARD, MICHAEL McINTYRE, AL MURRAY and TARA PALMER-TOMKINSON.
The 4,670 tickets will be on sale at 10am today.
Frank Skinner’s Credit Crunch Cabaret is at The Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. The extension will run every Monday from 23rd March to 27th April 2009. Box office: 0844 579 0089
