Award-winning comedian and star of BBC Radio 4's hit space comedy It Is Rocket Science!, HELEN KEEN returns to Edinburgh with a tale of technology, heartbreak and sexxxy robots. A fusion of stand-up, science fiction and shadow puppetry will transport you into the exciting, inventive and
tinfoil-y world of The Future (by at least an hour!).
HELEN KEEN is a Yorkshire-born comedian and writer and winner of the first ever Channel 4 New Comedy Writing Award.. Her debut solo show It Is Rocket Science! won the Buxton Festival Fringe Award for Best Comedy Performance and extensively toured the UK and Ireland before being snapped up by the BBC. BBC Radio 4 has so far launched two popular and critically acclaimed series of It Is Rocket Science with HELEN, also starring PETER SERAFINOWICZ (Look Around You, The Peter Serafinowicz Show,) and produced by Gareth Edwards (Mitchell & Webb, Spaced).

HELEN has presented The Fourth Dimension (BBC Radio 4’s science fiction and horror programming) and has appeared on Woman’s Hour and The Infinite Monkey Cage - as well as guesting on the Uncaged Monkeys live tour, taking her to venues including the Manchester O2 arena and the Hammersmith Apollo, with BRIAN COX, ROBIN INCE, BEN GOLDACRE and SIMON SINGH. She is currently the first Comedian in Residence at the Newcastle Centre for Life Science Village - where her duties have ranged from teaching academics to be funny about their esoteric subjects, to co-writing and narrating a planetarium extravaganza about the moon.
