Following the sell out success of his 2010 debut solo show Aggrophobic award-winning comedian CHRIS RAMSEY returns to The Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his brand new stand up show - Offermation. Since his first Fringe appearance with The Comedy Zone - which launched the careers of celebrated comedians DAVE GORMAN, HARRY HILL, RUSSELL HOWARD amongst others - CHRIS has appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) Comedy Rocks (ITV1), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC THREE) and supported AL MURRAY - THE PUB LANDLORD on his UK tour.
1. Offermation (n): Information that is given without being asked for; especially information that is useless or is unwanted. (Urban Dictionary)
With such an extensive array of communication capabilities at our fingertips, how come we never talk? Why is it that we often know more about random people on the internet than we do some of our own family? This year CHRIS takes a journey into the Offermation in his life; more specifically: an annual round robin letter from unknown family members. Why is it that this unrequested information is poured onto his doormat every year?
Sometimes the most pointless of things can end up giving us so much joy. Join Chris as he wades through the Offermation, and attempts to bring us closer together.
Winner of The Journal Culture Newcomer of the Year 2010 Award and named Zoo Magazine’s 75th funniest man, CHRIS was a finalist in both the Chortle Student Comedy Awards and the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. In September he will be a series regular in Chris Addison’s Show and Tell (E4).
What the press has said about Chris Ramsey:
"Frighteningly talented... tearing up every stage he lands on" GQ
“This rising star has likeability in spades and bags of confidence - all of which is borne out by his high-quality, consistently funny observational material.” The Guardian
“The effervescent Chris Ramsey is a rare thing in comedy, a positive comedian chock full of good will. The Geordie is patently not an angry comic and it's incredibly infectious.” BBC Comedy
