Following a sell-out performance at last year’s Underbelly Festival, star of Mock the Week (BBC Two) and Almost Royal (BBC America) Ed Gamble will return to the Southbank venue on 7th June, before heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his brand new show Mammoth, appearing at Pleasance Upstairs from 2nd – 27th August at 7:15pm.  Ed will then take the show out on his most extensive nationwide stand-up tour to date, beginning at Norwich Playhouse on 21st September.

Quickly becoming a regular face on TV screens, Ed’s credits include multiple appearances on Mock the Week (BBC Two), Man Down (Channel 4, also co-writing the upcoming fourth series), a headline set on the second series of Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central), Drunk History (Comedy Central), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Two), Virtually Famous (E4), Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC Three), and Dave’s One Night Stand (UKTV).  Also making a name for himself internationally, Ed has starred in two series of Almost Royal (BBC America’s first original comedy commission, broadcast on E4 in the UK), and is one of only a handful of British comedians to perform stand-up on Conan (TBS).  He has recently returned to the UK after being invited to perform at the New Zealand Comedy Festival, and in 2015 completed a successful run at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

On stage, Ed has performed as tour support for Greg Davies, Chris Addison and Russell Kane, and was awarded the Chortle Award for Best Compere in 2014. With Ray Peacock, Ed co-wrote and co-hosted the iTunes Chart topping and Chortle Award nominated Peacock and Gamble Podcast, and performed live shows at the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringes. Ed performed a sell-out run at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his third solo show Stampede, before embarking on his first nationwide stand-up tour, finishing with two performances at London’s Leicester Square Theatre.  2015 saw Ed perform at the Fringe with his second solo show, Lawman, playing to critical acclaim and sold out audiences throughout.
