Five ridiculously talented musicians, one award-winning comedian and an audience of all ages – this is going to be fun. Expect toe-tapping tunes, stupid jokes and some general melodious chaos as the Horne Section bring their brand-new barnstorming children’s show to the Underbelly. If you have kids, a sense of humour or you just enjoy watching brilliant musicians being made to do extraordinary things, this is the show for you.
Stand-up comedian ALEX HORNE is the creator and host of THE HORNE SECTION. The band has enjoyed sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010, 2011 and 2012 as well as at The Soho Theatre, Lyric Theatre – Shaftesbury Avenue, The Criterion Theatre and The Hackney Empire. They have hosted two series of the successful ALEX HORNE PRESENTS THE HORNE SECTION on BBC Radio 4 and hosted an episode of Nevermind the Buzzcocks at the end of 2012.
THE HORNE SECTION are: JOE AUCKLAND (trumpet, banjo), PETER GROGAN (saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar), WILL COLLIER (bass), BEN REYNOLDS (drums and percussion) and Ed Sheldrake (keyboards, keytar). The boys will be bring their unique mix of stand up, feel-good spectacle and jaw-dropping musicianship to the 2013 fringe with late-night show The Horne Section Live in a Cow, ALEX also performs Lies, his first solo show since 2011, at the Pleasance Two.
