EDINBURGH 2013: PEACOCK & GAMBLE – HEART-THROBS
EDINBURGH 2013: PEACOCK & GAMBLE - HEART-THROBS

After inexplicably failing to get famous in the UK for three years, triple Chortle Award nominees (2011, 2012, 2013) PEACOCK AND GAMBLE have even more inexplicably become all famous in Japan. Yes! No messing – your favourite lovely little smashers RAY & ED return to the Fringe in triumph, to shout their way through tales of their new found super-stardom in a knockabout hour of electrifying stupidity in their brand new show, ‘Heart-throbs’.

Alongside their critically-acclaimed 2012 Edinburgh show Peacock & Gamble Don’t Even Want To Be On Telly Anyway, RAY and ED hosted and produced a Chortle sponsored daily podcast at the festival featuring comedy giants including RUSSELL HOWARD, LEE MACK and GREG DAVIES. The boys will reprise the podcast this summer, with guests including Ardal O’Hanlon and Matt Lucas. In Spring 2013, ‘Peacock and Gamble Emergency Broadcast’ was commissioned for a pilot by BBC Radio 4.
RAY and ED first came to prominence with the hugely popular Peacock & Gamble Podcast which earned the duo two Chortle Comedy Award nominations, a place in the Guardian’s top-ten comedy podcasts, featured as part of the in-flight entertainment on British Airways and led to them becoming permanent hosts of The Comedy Club (Radio 4 Extra). The boys have both appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC THREE) and remain the only act to have been invited back to perform twice on the show. In 2011 PEACOCK & GAMBLE created a short film for BBC online entitled Warm Up.

As solo artists, RAY created The Ray Peacock Podcast in 2007 which later become the hugely successful Peacock & Gamble Podcast. In September 2013, Ray will present BBC Radio 4extra’s “Listening To Les”, a Les Dawson themed show which will see Ray interview a number of guests such as KEN DODD, NEIL INNES and LEE MACK. As an actor he has featured in TV shows including; Doctor Who (BBC One), Skins (E4) and Not Going Out (BBC One). Before conjoining with RAY, ED performed on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) and Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave). He supported GREG DAVIES and RUSSELL KANE on tour and has written jokes for Ask Rhod Gilbert (BBC One) and Mock the Week (BBC Two).
