DAVE COMMISSIONS A SECOND SERIES OF UNSPUN WITH MATT FORDE TO MAKE POLITICS GREAT AGAIN

Unspun with Matt Forde returns at 10pm Wednesday 1st March, 6 x 60 minute episodes

Unspun with Matt Forde returns to Dave this March to take an irreverent look at politics and politicians in 2017, dismantle the hyperbole, and try to work out how on earth we got here and where we go next. Recorded the day before transmission, the show will feature up-to-the minute analysis of the news agenda, special reports from guest comedians including ANDY ZALTZMAN and PHIL WANG and music from MATT’s house band MP4, the world’s only parliamentary rock group whose members are all serving, or former politicians.

At the heart of each episode on Unspun will be an in-depth discussion with one of Britain’s leading political figures. MATT has previously interviewed Westminster heavyweights including: TONY BLAIR, ALASTAIR CAMPBELL, MICHAEL PORTILLO, NIGEL FARAGE, ED BALLS, NICK CLEGG, ALAN JOHNSON, NEIL KINNOCK, JACOB REES-MOGG, RUTH DAVIDSON, JOHN PRESCOTT, JACK STRAW, DAME TESSA JOWELL, GEORGE GALLOWAY, JIM MURPHY and CHARLES CLARKE.

MP4 are: KEVIN BRENNAN MP (guitar and vocals), former MP IAN CAWSEY (bass guitar and vocals), THE RT HON SIR GREG KNIGHT MP (drums and percussion) and PETE WISHART MP (keyboards and vocals).

MATT’s successful live London show, The Political Party, has been a sell-out during its monthly residency at Westminster’s The Other Palace.  The show is also released as a podcast which has been downloaded over 500,000 times, hit the top spot of the iTunes comedy chart and was nominated for the Internet Award at the 2015 Chortle Awards.

A former advisor to the Labour Party, MATT has appeared on The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Mock The Week (BBC Two), Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report and Rory Bremner’s Election Report (BBC Two), 8 out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Question Time (BBC One), This Week (BBC One), Newsnight (BBC Two) and The Daily Politics (BBC Two).

MATT performed his stand-up show It’s My Political Party (and I’ll Cry if I Want to) to critical acclaim at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and sold out his entire month-long run for the third consecutive year.
